Yerevan, March 12. /Mediamax/. Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said in Yerevan today that “we would like very much to contribute our share in the process of normalizing Turkish-Armenian relations.”
In reply to the question by Mediamax’s correspondent, Mikhail Saakashvili said that during his forthcoming official visit to Ankara he is ready to discuss the prospects of rehabilitation of transport
communications connecting Turkey to Armenia, in particular, Kars-Gymri railway. However, Georgian President noted, “in the end everything will depend on the good will of the Turkish authorities.”
Mikhail Saakashvili expressed opinion that Turkey can play great role in the stabilization of the situation in the region and it is interested in establishing good relations with all the countries of the region, including Armenia.
Armenian President Robert Kocharian said in his turn that the rehabilitation of Kars-Gyumri railway will be favorable not only for Armenia and Turkey but also for Georgia and Russia.
“We will be grateful to our Georgian colleagues if they include these issues on the agenda of their talks in Turkey,” Robert Kocharian said. |
