Richard Armitage expressed hope that Turkey will soon return to the
issue of opening its border with Armenia-26.03

Richard Armitage, said in Yerevan today that “the opening of the
Armenian-Turkish border will be for the good of all the sides.”
Richard Armitage said in Yerevan today that the benefit from opening the
Armenian-Turkish border will become tangible in rather short terms,
Mediamax reports.
“We are discussing these issues with our friends in Turkey,” the U.S.
Deputy Secretary of State said.
Richard Armitage noted that the Turkish authorities have paid much
attention to the situation in the Northern Iraq and the settlement of
the Cyprus problem recently.
“But I hope that the Turkish authorities will soon return to the issue
