| Yerevan, February 14. /Mediamax/. The opening of Armenian-Turkish border will allow to increase the current goods turnover between two counties at least in three times.
The co-chairman of the Turkish-Armenian Business Development Council (TABDC), Kaan Soyak, said this in Yerevan today, Mediamax reports. According to official data, the volume of Armenian-Turkish goods turnover made $120 mln in 2004.
Kaan Soyak said that jointly with the Eurasia Foundation the TABDC is now studying the scales of economic profits from the possible opening of the border between two countries.
Official Baku is not content with the TABDC activity, the Turkish businessman said, and the Azeri envoy in Ankara makes every effort not to allow the opening of the border.
Speaking about political problems between Armenia and Turkey, Kaan Soyak suggested starting a direct dialogue between the politicians of two countries. He spoke of his readiness to take part in the organization of a visit of representatives of Dashnaktsutiun party to Turkey, whose activity, according to Soyak, is perceived ambiguously in Ankara. –0– |
