BRUSSELS – Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, who was in Bruhttp://tabdc.org/wp-admin/post-new.phpssels for NATO meetings, held bilateral meetings with Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Vilayat Quliyev on Friday.
Georgia and issue of stability issue within the scope of recent developments in Caucasia, were taken up in Gul’s meeting with Oskanyan.
Gul and Oskanyan discussed development of relations of Caucasian countries with Europe and NATO, deepening the activities of Partnership for Peace (PfP) and bringing more content to these activities.
Gul said that Ankara was supporting the efforts for solution of problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan and added that time has come to take steps for taking measures to increase confidence. He added that Turkey was ready for contribution and undertake the role of catalyst.
Giving the same messages in his meeting with Quliyev, Gul stressed the importance attributed to stability in Caucasia and encouraged and expressed support to Azerbaijan for its taking steps to reach solution in Upper Karabagh problem.
Sources said that sides looked for an opportunity to convene foreign ministers of Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan soon.
Gul then departed for Turkey. |
