| Yerevan, January 14. /Mediamax/. Armenian will continue its dialogue
with Turkey aimed at reaching a considerable progress in bilateral
relations, Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said in Yerevan today.
Vartan Oskanian noted that despite the harsh-worded statements made by
Ankara representatives from time to time, the Armenian-Turkish relations
were considered by Turkey less dependent on the settlement of the
Nagorno Karabakh conflict in 2003 than it was before, Mediamax reports.
Armenian Foreign Minister said that in 2003 Armenia and Turkey carried
on a dialogue not only on the level of Foreign Ministers of the two
countries but also within the framework of international organizations,
especially UNESCO, the Council of Europe (CoE) and the Black Sea
Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).
“My meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul held last year
let us state that our dialogue is not over and we can achieve positive
results in case a consecutive work is done,” Vartan Oskanian said.
Commenting on the possible trilateral meeting of Armenian, Turkish and
Azeri Foreign Ministers, Vartan Oskanian said that Yerevan had not
received such an offer yet. The Minister reminded that Armenia had
already taken part in two such meetings and did not rule out the
possibility of holding a new one in case if during the talks Turkey does
not act as a mediator between Armenian and Azerbaijan. |
