Armenian-Turkish protocols declared in

compliance with Armenian

Constitution

Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia

declared today that the Armenian-Turkish protocols on establishing

diplomatic relations and developing bilateral relations are in compliance

with the requirements of the Constitution.

Mediamax reports that now the protocols may be submitted to the National

Assembly of Armenia for ratification. However, parliament Speaker Hovik

Abramyan stated in December, 2009, that the protocols would be ratified by

the Armenian side only after their ratification by the Turkish parliament.

Protocols were signed on October 10, 2009, in Zurich by Foreign Ministers

of Armenia and Turkey at the presence of Foreign Ministers of Russia,

France and the USA.
