Davutoglu discussed Karabakh conflict with Aliyev

The criminal proceedings will be instituted on the insult to national flag of Azerbaijan during Armenia-Turkey football match in Bursa. October 22, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated after the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. In the course of the meeting, the bilateral relations, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and Armenia-Turkey dialogue was discussed.

“The President called the incident in Bursa provocation against Azerbaijani flag. We intend to carry out investigation on the issue and detect the perpetrators,” Davutoglu said. In his turn Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stated that Azerbaijani side “will thoroughly follow the investigation process and take appropriate steps.” “We hope that the guilty will be detected and suffer severe punishment,” Mammadyarov underlined.

It is noteworthy that today the two foreign ministers visited the Shahid alley in Baku where Turkish flags had been removed. Davutoglu expressed hope that Azerbaijani as well as Turkish flags would stream there in future: “Azerbaijani and Turkish flags waved here. We hope that the flags would again stream at the memorial soon.”
