WB Regional Director impressed by Armenia’s economic progress -15.09

Yerevan, September 15. /Mediamax/. Armenian government’s poverty

reduction strategic program will be, probably, approved by the World

Bank (WB) Board of Directors, WB Regional Director Donna Dowsett-Coirolo

said in Yerevan today.

The governmental press service informed Mediamax today that WB Regional

Director said this at the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Andranik

Margarian. The strategic program for poverty reduction is a “realistic

document” and will be considered by the WB Board of Directors this

November, Donna Dowsett-Coirolo said.

WB Regional Director stated that she was “impressed” by the results of

Armenian government’s activity during last 3 years.

Prime Minister Andranik Margarian expressed hope that Armenia can

further hope for the assistance of international financial institutions.

According to him, this support is extremely vital both for the

realization of poverty reduction program and for the anti-corruption

program, which the Armenian cabinet of ministers will approve in the

near future
